Food Service Department was awarded the $50,000.00 “No Kid Hungry Grant”
San Luis, AZ- Gadsden Elementary School District #32 Food Service Department has been awarded $50,000 for all schools in the district from the “No Kid Hungry Grant”
The No Kid Hungry grant is a national campaign run by Share our Strength, a nonprofit working to solve problems of hunger and poverty in the United States and around the world. Millions of vulnerable children are losing the healthy meals they depend on as the coronavirus closes schools nationwide. No Kid Hungry worked with states and the USDA to develop a map to help families easily find free meals for their kids.
Gadsden Elementary School District #32 is using funds to serve all children an estimated 6,400 meals a day in at least eight feeding sites.
Thank you to the Albertsons Companies Foundation who generously funded this grant, and thank you to the Food Service Department for your hard work and dedication during this difficult time!!!
