    This is our last week before summer vacation. Thank you all for your hard work and support from home during this situation. 
The activities for this week are attached below. Hope you have fun! I still want to encourage you keep doing Achieve3000 activities throughout the week. I uploaded a few lessons for you guys to try out. Select whichever lesson/s you like and put your reading skills into practice.

Week 7 (5/11-5/15)

Hello everyone, 
     Math assignments for the whole week are attached at the bottom. They are labeled based on what should be done daily. You have the option to either write your answers on a piece of paper and sent a clear photo through ClassDojo or use Microsoft Word and type in the answers and email it to me. Another option is to upload it through your portfolio in ClassDojo. Make sure that when sending me the assignment it includes the your name, date, and name of assignment. For this week's reading assignments you will be completing tthree Achieve3000 article assignments. The lessons are the following: 
 
Monday, May 11th- Achieve3000- "A Grand, Grand Canyon" 
Tuesday, May 12th- Achieve3000- "Animals and Eclipses"
Wednesdday, May 13th-Achieve3000- "Toy Stories" 
 
 
    Students will also find an attachment with their writing prompt for this week. This week they will work on an Explanatory essay.For the writing assignment, students are to email me their final copy typed at [email protected]
 
     Additionally, please remember that the due date for all these assignments is on 05/17/2020. Any assignments turned in after that date will not be accepted. Week 4/27-5/01

Math assignments for the whole week are attached at the bottom. They are labeled as "Math Exam Part 1" and "Math Exam Part 2." Students are to complete math exam part 1 in a two day block and the other part (part 2) in another two day period. For example, part 1 has a total of 22 questions, which the student will have to complete the 22 questions by Tuesday, by breaking it up into doing approximately 11 questions per day. Students will write their answers either on a piece of paper and sent a clear photo through ClassDojo or use Microsoft and type in their answers and email it to me. Another option is to upload it to their portfolio on ClassDojo. Make sure that when sending me the assignment it includes the student's name, date, and name of assignment. Students will complete the same steps with math exam part 2. For this week's reading assignments you will be completing three Achieve3000 article assignments. The schedule is the following:
 
Monday, April 27th- Achieve3000- "For Elephants, Smell Counts!" 
Tuesday, April 28th- Achieve3000- "Roadside Weirdness"
Wednesday, April 29th- Achieve3000-"Droids at Your Service"
 
 
Students will also find an attachment with their writing prompt for this week together with the article. The writing prompt is found at the bottom of the article called, "Should Snakes Be Pets?" once you open the PDF File.For the writing assignment, students are to email me their final draft typed at [email protected] or upload it to their ClassDojo portfolio.

This week the students won't have to do an essay, but rather an EBSR. The schedule is the following:

Students will find an attachment with their writing (EBSR) for this week.For the writing assignment, students are to email me their typed response at [email protected] or upload it to their ClassDojo portfolio.

Assignment

        Students will read the five different reading passages throughout the week and answer the questions that follow with the passage. They need to do one daily reading assignment, one daily math assignment, and one writing assignment for this week. All math assignments, readings, and writing prompt are attached below. For reading and math assignments students will either write their answers on a piece of paper and sent a clear photo through ClassDojo or use Microsoft and type their answers and email it to me. Please include date of assignment, name of assignment, subject (reading or math), and student name. For the writing assignment, students are to email me their final draft typed at [email protected] . The writing prompt pertains to three articles found in Achieve 3000. Students need to log in into Achieve3000 and look for the articles called, "No More Plastic Bags?(source 1)", "Plastics in our Oceans (source 2)," and "Kenya: No More Plastic Bags (source 3)" Students will read the three sources provided and answer the writing prompt.
